Teen bicyclist injured in collision with van Saturday evening near Detroit Lakes
A 15-year-old girl was injured in a bicycle-van collision at Highway 59 and County Road 6 near Detroit Lakes Saturday evening.
Tarah Block, whose city of residence was not released by the State Patrol, was transported by ambulance to St. Mary's Innovis Hospital. She suffered non life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.
She was one of two bicyclists who were westbound on County Road 6 about 9 p.m. One stopped for the red light, but the other continued into the intersection and ran into the side of a 2000 Plymouth van, southbound on Highway 59, driven by Chad N. Stenerson, 54, of Scottsdale, Ariz., who had the green light.
He suffered no apparent injuries.
The accident occurred on dry blacktop. Officers with the Becker County Sheriff's Department and Detroit Lakes Police Department assisted at the scene.
