Crime and accidents

The following items were taken from reports at the Detroit Lakes Police Department and Becker County Sheriff's Department:

Wednesday, June 23

-At 9:14 a.m. a male caller reported that grass was down, 10 to 12 feet long, 4-6 feet wide in a property on County Road 146 in Lake Park. There was also an extension cord and a potato chip bag hanging on a cottonwood tree.

-At 10:42 a.m. a Callaway male reported a break-in at his residence.

-At 2:06 p.m. a male caller reported the rear window of his vehicle was broken. The vehicle was parked in front of Lakeview Apartments in Detroit Lakes.

-At 2:46 p.m. a Detroit Lakes male reported the theft of his pressure washer. He said he thinks the suspect, who spent Sunday night in his garage, will pawn the pressure washer to a Callaway male in exchange for drugs.

-At 4:11 p.m. a male was taken into custody without incident on an apprehension and detention order.

-At 4:36 p.m. a Detroit Lakes caller reported his cabin in west Sugar Bush Township was broken into.

-At 9 p.m. a Lake Park caller reported a porcupine under his vehicle.

Thursday, June 24

-At 12:01 a.m. a White Earth male reported receiving harassing text messages.

-At 12:10 p.m. a Detroit Lakes female reported receiving harassing massages via phone and Facebook.

-At 3:19 a.m. a Ponsford male reported gun shots in the New Projects.

-At 6:05 a.m. a male caller reported someone who drove by the tennis courts in Detroit Lakes yelled obscenity and then came back and egged a vehicle.

Friday, June 25

-At 3:18 p.m. a Detroit Lakes female reported the theft of a wishing well from her yard.

-At 3:18 p.m. a Ponsford man reported the theft of a weed trimmer and two gas cans.

-At 3:37 p.m. a female reported plants stolen from the garage/Lions fundraiser storage in Detroit Lakes.

-At 3:47 p.m. a grass fire in the ditch was reported on Highway 113 just near the Elbow Lake Store.

-At 4:05 p.m. a female living on the 300 block of Union Street West requested extra patrols after her vehicle was broken into twice in the last few weeks.

-At 10:19 p.m. a Frazee female reported a male party abusing children.

Saturday, June 26

-At 4:37 p.m. a female reported a vehicle was hit while parked near Zorbaz.

-At 5:57 p.m. a female driving a white personal watercraft was apparently chasing geese on Lake Melissa.

-At 6:04 p.m. a personal watercraft was reported driving at a high rate of speed on Munson Lake.

-At 11:28 p.m. a Frazee male reported fireworks being shot off on West Ash Avenue.

Sunday, June 27

-At 3 a.m. an Osage female reported being assaulted by another female in Park Rapids.

-At 8:42 a.m. a male reported the theft of a vehicle in Waubun.

-At 12:43 p.m. a Ponsford female reported a drunk male walked into her residence and started arguing with her.

-At 1:43 p.m. a Detroit Lakes female reported youngsters moving buoys and using them as flotation device on Eagle Lake.

-At 3:27 p.m. a Lake Park female reported the shooting of a high powered rifle at a residence.

-At 5:19 p.m. a female reported the theft of a "Shakespeare in the Park" banner from the Detroit Lakes City Park.

Monday, June 28

-At 9:51 a.m. a Detroit Lakes female reported stolen items from her car that was parked on the 1200 block of Lake Avenue. The items were a CD player, CD case and a Zen adapter.

-At 5:49 p.m. a Detroit Lakes male reported the theft of a chainsaw.

-At 7:15 p.m. a horse in the Bass Lake area was reported missing for about a week.

-At 9:55 p.m. the Mahnomen Health Care Center reported a female bit by a dog in the South Projects of White Earth.
