Crime and Accidents
The following items were taken from reports at the Detroit Lakes Police Department and Becker County Sheriff's Department:
Wednesday, July 7
At 11:35 p.m. a Detroit Lakes man reported someone trying to break in to a residence on the 100 block of West Central Avenue Police say there was no actual break-in but a suspect was apprehended and cited for disorderly conduct.
Thursday, July 8
At 3:22 p.m. a Lake Park woman reported her 12-year-old daughter received some disturbing text messages.
At 5:11 p.m. a caller reported the theft of iPods and accessories, in the early morning hours of July 5, from a maroon Pontiac Grand Am and a blue Dodge Stratus.
At 5:42 p.m. a Lake Park man reported the theft of a tackle box, four fishing rods and reels and a Hummingbird depth finder from a boat.
At 10 p.m. Becker County sheriff deputies responded to a motorcycle accident with minor injuries to the driver.
Friday, July 9
At 2:50 a.m. police received a report of four youth running past a yard and throwing golf clubs in the flower bed.
At 8:26 a.m. a Detroit Lakes resident reported a boat, that was previously sitting on neighbor's property, was missing.
At 10:06 a.m. a Detroit Lakes man reported his vehicle was egged, along with a vehicle parked next to it, while parked on the 800 block of East Central Street.
At 10:38 a.m. a Detroit Lakes man reported a boat that was pulling kids on a tube to chase geese.
At 2:30 p.m. a Detroit Lakes woman reported her car was egged. She added that her car was egged once before and she also found syrup, silly string and French fries on it while it was parked on the 1000 block of Summit Avenue.
At 2:42 p.m. a Detroit Lakes man reported two motor vehicle thefts from his vehicle while it was parked at Walmart and Central Market. He was missing a golf bag and golf clubs. Police later located the clubs.
At 5:14 p.m. a Detroit Lakes man reported damage to the rear window of his car while it was parked on Lake Avenue.
At 5:15 p.m. a Ponsford woman reported three boys who were throwing rocks at the White Earth Community Center.
At 7:13 p.m. a Perham man reported he was missing four tires from a trailer that was located at a Frazee turkey farm.
At 10:20 p.m. a no injury deer-boat accident was reported in Lakeview Township.
Saturday, July 10
At 12:50 a.m. a Ponsford woman reported vandalism at a house that was just built.
At 3:33 p.m. Detroit Lakes Police arrested a 29-year-old man for fourth-degree DWI on Highway 34 West.
At 5:26 p.m. a Lake Park man reported vandalism to the Lake Park High School locker room and weight room.
At 8:14 p.m. a Wolverton woman reported she was thrown out of a vehicle in Erie Township. She declined medical attention.
