Crime and Accidents

The following items were taken from reports at the Detroit Lakes Police Department and Becker County Sheriff's Department:

Thursday, Sept. 22

• At 4:04 p.m. two bicycles were reported stolen from the 800 block of Rossman Avenue.

Friday, Sept. 23

• At 3:09 p.m. a woman complained that children in a police squad car during a parade on Washington Avenue were not wearing seat belts. She was told that police management had approved the children riding in the police car and seatbelts weren't necessary because it was a parade.

• At 3:09 p.m. a Cormorant Township man complained that a neighbor kept putting garbage on his property while he was gone.

• At 3:15 p.m. an Ogema man reported a cabin break-in on the 31000 block of Sugar Creek Road in Sugar Bush Township. A four-wheeler was stolen. Two other cabin break-ins were also reported in the same area.

• At 7:14 p.m. a woman reported a cabin burglary on the 21000 block of County Road 125 in Green Valley Township. It occurred sometime after Sept. 9.

• At 10:23 p.m. a White Earth woman reported the theft of a black Toyota. It was found burning on a trail near County Road 21. White Earth firefighters were on the scene about 20 minutes.

Saturday, Sept. 24

• At 12:30 a.m. a one-vehicle rollover was reported at County Road 6 and Long Lake Road. No injuries were reported.

• At 6:40 a.m. a domestic assault was reported at a parking lot across from the Subaru dealership on Highway 10. A man was seen forcefully pushing a woman down. The 52-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct and on a Hennepin County warrant. The 39-year-old woman said she pulled into the parking lot because he was getting unruly. The keys were thrown into the lot and the battery died on the vehicle. A police officer returned with a booster and started the vehicle.

• At 11:11 a.m. Frazee rescue workers reported treating a male that had been stung by a bee and was foaming at the mouth from an apparent allergic reaction.

• At 11:40 a.m. an 11-year-old boy reportedly suffered neck injuries at the Lake Park football field.

• At 1:09 p.m. Lake Park Rescue assisted a person with a bee sting at Lake Park Lutheran Church. They were on the scene about 5 minutes.

• At 2:22 p.m. a Shell Lake man reported the theft of a gold ring with an agate stone on the 41000 block of County Road 126.

• At 4:55 p.m. police were called to the 500 block of State Street East on a complaint and arrested a 48-year-old man who was intoxicated and swearing. He was wanted on a Clay County warrant. A friend took his bicycle to The Refuge for him.

• At 5:48 p.m. police received a complaint in Elbow Lake village that three or four boys ages 10 or 11 were shooting out street lights with a BB gun.

• At 8:25 p.m. a Pine Point woman reported that her daughter had been beaten by another girl and had facial swelling and other injuries.

Sunday, Sept. 25

• At 9:38 a.m. a man from an overhead door company called police to report that an employee was supposed to make a delivery in Detroit Lakes, but said he wasn't feeling well and now wasn't answering his cell phone. He was informed that the 49-year-old driver had been arrested by the State Patrol for DWI.

• At 4:39 p.m. a domestic was reported at City Park between a young man and young woman.

• At 8:03 p.m. a West Fargo woman reported she accidentally left her purse at KFC and could not find it when she returned.

Monday, Sept. 26

• At 10:41 a.m. a shed break-in was reported on the 11000 block of South Lake Eunice Drive. Taken were two full 6-gallon gas cans, a high-pressure washer, a grass trimmer and a tackle box.
