Vehicle accidents keep piling up

The following items were taken from reports at the Detroit Lakes Police Department and Becker County Sheriff's Office:

Friday, Jan. 18

• A half-dozen vehicle-deer collisions were reported from Friday through Monday in Becker County. No injuries were reported.

• At 1:56 a.m. a lost wallet was reported in the vicinity of Holiday gas station. It contained $1,400-plus in cash.

• At 6:49 a.m. a stolen vehicle was reported on the 600 block of Granger road. The two-door black 1989 Buick LeSabre was taken sometime overnight.

• At 8:32 a.m. a burglary was reported on the 800 block of Pembina Trail.

• At 9:02 a.m. the theft of items from a motor vehicle was reported in Detroit Lakes. Taken were jumper cables, multiple tools, and cigarettes. The glove box was rifled through.

• At 10:21 a.m. a minor accident involving a snowplow was reported on Randolph Road near Riverside Auto.

• At 11:32 a.m. another minor accident involving a snowplow was reported at the intersection of Summit Avenue and Willow Street.

• At 12:02 p.m. a vehicle break-in was reported on the 1200 block of Jackson Avenue.

• At 12:52 p.m. the theft of an ATV was reported. The 2007 Yamaha 50cc ATV was taken from the 1000 block of County Road 5 in Cormorant Township sometime between Jan. 4 and Jan. 11.

• At 4:05 p.m. a domestic disturbance was reported on Lake Avenue. About two hours later, officers were called back to the same address. A man was removed from the residence. About 10 p.m. they were back at the residence because the man was apparently staying in a fish house on the property.

• At 11:17 p.m. a theft was reported on the 200 block of Shorewood Drive.

Saturday, Jan. 19

• At 3:58 a.m. a domestic fight was reported. One person walked to Diamond Willow senior housing to get away from the situation.

• At 9:02 a.m. a one-vehicle rollover was reported at County Road 11 and Deroxe Road in Lake Eunice Township. Nobody was injured and the owners got help to recover the vehicle.

• At 9:40 a.m. a cabin break-in was reported near Scent of Pines Shores in North Round Lake Township.

• At 7:11 p.m. a pickup broke through the ice at the sand ridge on Detroit Lake. The pickup truck only went partially into the water and everyone got out safely.

• At 7:13 p.m. a 50-year-old man called for help with frostbitten hands on the 15000 block of Blackhawk Road in Lake Eunice Township.

Sunday, Jan. 20

• At 10:26 a.m. a house fire was reported on the 18000 block of 230th Avenue in rural Audubon. The Audubon Fire Department was on the scene for about two hours.

• At 11:21 a.m. a chimney fire was reported on the 20000 block of County Road 131 in Detroit Township. Detroit Lakes firefighters were on the scene for about 50 minutes.

• At 1:49 p.m. a theft from a motor vehicle was reported on the 300 block of East Central Street. A work satchel was taken from the floor of the vehicle.

• At 5:24 p.m. an assault was reported involving two males at a residence on the 28000 block of Somdahl Road in Richwood Townships.

Monday, Jan. 21

• At 4:21 a.m. the theft of gas was reported from a fuel tank at a residence on the 26000 block of 230th Street in Richwood Township.

• At 8:38 a.m. a burglary was reported on the 21000 block of County Road 29 in Erie Township. Taken was a wallet from a bedroom that contained $320 cash, and possibly other items. A Jan. 12 fish house burglary was also reported by the same complainant.

• At 10:32 a.m. the theft of electrical power on the 4000 block of Ledoux Road in South Round Lake Township was reported by Itasca-Mantrap Power Cooperative.

Tuesday, Jan. 22

• At 8:14 a.m. the theft of a pile of firewood was reported on the 36000 block of Marten Drive in White Earth.
