WE man going to prison for shoplifting

A White Earth man was sentenced Tuesday to a year in prison on a felony charge of attempted theft.

Lawrence Lewis Larson Jr., 33, was also ordered to pay $135 in court fines and fees, plus $475 in restitution for his share of the damages. He was given credit for 211 days already served.

Court records state that on March 11, Larson and another person had entered the Walmart store in Detroit Lakes, then attempted to leave  with over $1,000 in merchandise, some of which had been paid for, but almost $500 of it had not. The two had attempted to conceal some items inside the paid-for items in an attempt to steal them.
