Rothsay man accused of threatening woman with firearm

Jason Richard Sytsma

ROTHSAY, Minn. - A 41-year-old Rothsay man has been arrested for allegedly threatening a woman with a firearm, according to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office.

Jason Richard Sytsma reportedly went to a home in Rothsay on Saturday looking for a woman. Sytsma asked the homeowner if the woman was there. The homeowner told him she wasn’t.

Sytsma reportedly then became angry and pointed a firearm at the homeowner’s head and threatening to shoot her. The firearm, the report says, was a handgun. It didn’t state the make and model.

The incident was reported Monday evening, and Sytsma was arrested at his home on a charge for second-degree assault.
