Pain pills lead to felony charges
Rayn Justin Jacobson, 19, of rural Pelican Rapids has been charged in Becker County District Court with two felony counts of fifth-degree controlled substance crime.
According to court records, on Dec. 23 he was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by a trooper on Highway 59 in Becker County for no front license plate and a broken tail light.
There was an open container of alcohol in the vehicle, and Jacobson was wanted on an outstanding Otter Tail County warrant.
He was arrested and taken to the Becker County Jail, where 17.5 codeine pills and 24 Amphetamine/Dextroamphetamine pills were allegedly found on his person.
He appeared Dec. 27 before District Judge Jay Carlson, who set bail at $1,000 or bond at $10,000, with conditions, or bond at $20,000 without standard conditions of release.
