Sex offender gets prison

DETROIT LAKES - A Detroit Lakes man was sentenced last week to a little over two years in prison for violating the terms of the predatory offender registration law.

Norman Albert Maase, 36, pled guilty to the felony charge in Becker County District Court on Dec. 20, 2007. He was charged with failing to notify authorities of a change of address, after an officer went to his last known address at 315 Bowling Ave., Detroit Lakes, on June 19, 2007, and learned that it had been more than a month since Maase had lived there.

In addition to the 26-month prison sentence, Maase was also ordered pay $87 in court fees.
