The following items were taken from reports at the Becker County Sheriff's Department and Detroit Lakes Police Department. Over the holiday weekend, there were numerous fireworks complaints and a number of lost wallets, checkbooks and cell phones, some of which were turned into the police department.

Thursday, July 3

n At 12:43 p.m. a resident reported unsupervised children setting off fireworks on the 1500 block of East Shore Drive. An officer talked to the two youngsters and their mother and explained what kind of fireworks are legal in Minnesota.

n At 12:56 p.m. the theft of a new utility trailer was reported at the Club House motel. The 5-foot by 8-foot carry-on trailer was taken sometime in the morning.

n At 2 p.m. a police officer reported that traffic on Highway 10 was backed up from a four-way stop at Washington Avenue all the way to the Highway 59 bridge. Detroit Lakes police officers and state troopers directed traffic periodically throughout the day to alleviate congestion.

n At 3:38 p.m. graffiti was reported in the bathroom at Central Market.

n At 6:04 p.m. a Ponsford resident reported that a man was driving a stolen vehicle around Pine Point.

n At 6:40 p.m. a car was reported on fire on Rush Road in Carsonville Township.

n At 7:16 p.m. police received a complaint from the Riverview Mobile home park saying a woman there was very intoxicated and getting violent. The 25-year-old woman was arrested for disorderly conduct.

n At 8:40 p.m. a 21-year-old man reported that someone hit his car with a baseball bat on Washington Avenue near Forest Street, denting the front fender.

n At 8:43 p.m. the theft of a Jensen stereo was reported sometime in the past two weeks from a boat on the 500 block of Shorewood Drive.

n At 9:11 p.m. an accident with injuries was reported at the junction of highway 10 and 59. Injuries were not believed to be serious.

n At 10:17 p.m. a complaint was received about loud music and a live band on the 160th block of Shorewood Drive. The musician was "more than happy" to quit playing and call it a night, according to the incident report.

n At 10:52 p.m. an 18-year-old woman was arrested near the Pavilion for minor consuming alcohol. She posted the $300 bail.

n At 10:56 p.m. a grass fire was reported in the vicinity of Gull Creek, White Earth Lake. It took about an hour for White Earth firefighters to respond to the call.

n At 11:18 p.m. a 23-year-old Dilworth man was seen urinating on a bus parked on Summit Avenue. An officer approached to talk to him about it, and his friends advised him to run, which he did. He was found hiding in some bushes on the 1300 block of Minnesota Avenue, and was arrested for public misconduct and fleeing a peace officer on foot. He was taken to jail.

Friday, July 4

n At 1:14 a.m. police received a complaint of two groups of people drunk and yelling on the 1100 block of Summit Avenue. A 26-year-old man was warned for noise violation.

n At 1:20 a.m. a fight was reported at Lakeside tavern. A 29-year-old man was arrested for trespassing after he refused several times to leave the premises.

n At 1:44 a.m. police responded to a report of fireworks and yelling on the 1100 block of Summit Avenue. A man there was arrested for disorderly conduct. He was released from jail after he sobered up.

n At 5:26 a.m. a 23-year-old man was arrested on a warrant on Randolph Road. He posted bail.

n At 11:39 a.m. a resident on the 13000 block of Cormorant Beach Road complained of kids shooting BB guns.

n At 8:10 p.m. police responded to Zorbaz after employees reported concerns that he would damage vehicles in the parking lot with a metal sign he was apparently carrying.

The 25-year-old man was angry about a parking issue, and would not calm down and talk rationally to officers. They eventually arrested him and he continued yelling and swearing all the way to jail.

n At 8:28 p.m. alcohol and coolers were confiscated from a group of underage drinkers on the 1200 block of Lake Avenue. The coolers were picked up later at the police department.

n At 8:30 p.m. deputies received a report of a personal watercraft that hit a pontoon on a lift on Lake Melissa. The driver, who suffered cuts and bruises, left the scene and was not located until the next day. A 39-year-old Golden Valley man has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident and careless operation of a watercraft.

n At 9:05 p.m. an officer saw a woman chasing a man behind the St. Mary's EMS building on Washington Avenue. She caught him and slapped him hard in the face, causing his glasses to fly off. An officer helped him find the eyeglasses. He did not want to press charges.

The 20-year-old woman was stopped and warned about her behavior. She told the officer the man used to be her boyfriend and she was ticked off at him.

n At 10:18 p.m. a man on the 1300 block of Lake Avenue complained that people were defecating in his back yard.

n At 10:35 p.m. a fistfight behind the Pavilion was reported by witnesses, who said a person was kicked in the head. The participants did not report the fight and could not be located.

n At 11:13 p.m. a fight was reported at the Holiday Haven, in which a man had been hit with a post and was bleeding from the eye area. The 21-year-old man and 23-year-old woman had a mutual fight and didn't want to press charges. The man was transported to St. Mary's Innovis Health for treatment.

n At 11:15 p.m. Becker County Sheriff's Auxiliary volunteers saw three men drinking publicly after being warned against it.

Two 22-year-old men were arrested for drinking beer on the street, and another 22-year-old man was arrested for drinking beer on the public beach in DL.

Saturday, July 5

n At 12:17 a.m. a man on the 1300 block of Lake Avenue complained that people were urinating in his yard, including one who walked up and did it in front of him.

As a police officer was talking to the homeowner, another man walked up and urinated in the yard. The 24-year-old man was cited for urinating in public and indecent exposure.

n At 12:36 a.m. a 23-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct in Detroit Lakes.

n At 12:48 a.m. a woman reported that a man on Washington Avenue had just passed out and fallen into the bushes near Holy Rosary Church. The man was intoxicated, not sick, and was given a ride to his rental cabin.

n At 1 a.m. a man was arrested in City Park for fourth-degree DWI. He was jailed and released when sober.

n At 1:35 a.m. a woman at the Pine to Palm motel flagged down an officer to report two groups of men about to fight. A 27-year-old man and a 23-year-old man were cited for engaging in fights and affrays.

n At 1:44 a.m. officers found an intoxicated 38-year-old man holding open a door to the DL Eagles club. The door was unlocked and nothing was found to be missing.

n At 2:35 a.m. a man at the Holiday Haven motel reported two men facing off to fight out front.

n At 4:39 a.m. a woman on the 1100 block of Washington Avenue reported that a man had entered her residence. The 20-year-old man was cited for trespassing and providing a false name to peace officers.

n At 9:45 a.m. a Fargo woman reported the theft of two wake boards and a life jacket from a boat on the 1200 block of West Lake Drive.

n At 2:32 p.m. a 48-year-old man was found trying to lie on a blanket in the alley behind the Main Street Restaurant. He was incoherent and kept dropping items he was carrying. His sister told officers he was on weekend furlough from Prairie St. John's. He was brought to the emergency room to be checked out and then to his sister's residence.

n At 4:55 p.m. one person was taken to St. Mary's for treatment of a back injury after a personal watercraft accident about 200 yards out from the beach on Little Detroit Lake.

Brittanie Cassady, 18, of Earlham, Iowa, was being towed on a tube behind a personal watercraft when wave action from other boats caused her to hit the back of the boat towing her. She was not believed to be seriously injured.

n At 6:23 p.m. deputies received a report of a man out on a sandbar on Lake Melissa, naked except for a life vest and very intoxicated.

n At 7:51 p.m. a van-motorcycle crash was reported on Maple Ridge Road in the Audubon area. The motorcyclist went around a turn too fast and clipped an oncoming van. He was taken to St. Mary's with non-life threatening injuries.

n At 8:42 p.m. a 24-year-old Nisswa man and a 30-year-old St. Cloud man refused to leave Zorbaz after being dropped off there by cab. They were too intoxicated to be served and were eventually sent on their way by officers.

n At 11:40 p.m. a domestic fight was broken up by officers on the 300 block of Park Lake Boulevard. Both had been drinking. No charges were filed.

Sunday, July 6

n At 1:20 a.m.. a resident in the 600 block of West Lake Drive reported that a party had started up and revelers were trampling garden plants. Several young men were taken to jail for noise ordinance violations and released at 8 a.m.

n At 9:25 a.m. graffiti was reported sprayed on a stall wall in a Detroit Lakes Library bathroom.

n At 9:44 p.m. a traffic stop on the 1100 block of Roosevelt Avenue resulted in a passenger fleeing on foot to avoid arrest on an active warrant. He was caught hiding in the back yard of a residence on the 300 block of Oak Street and taken to jail.

n At 7:50 p.m. a St. Cloud man reported that someone had stolen a sleeping bag and wallet from his tent at the Shorewood Pub campground.
