Prosecutors have charged Harmit Bhangu, 32, with second-degree attempted murder and second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon in connection with the incident at the Interstate 94 rest stop.
Bhangu, a truck driver from Chestermere, Alberta, Canada, also is charged with fourth-degree assault on a police officer for allegedly striking a detective in the face.
