3 arrested for stealing $19K in supplies from local business

Local authorities arrested three men Thursday after the suspects tried to get away with more than $19,000 worth of wiring and tools from a local business.

At around 1:24 a.m., the Wadena Police Department responded to a report of unknown individuals in the Minnesota Valley Irrigation equipment yard off Highway 10 East in Wadena, according to a WPD press release.

The release stated officers who responded to the scene saw two men and an older model pickup located in the equipment area on the west side of the business. Several rolls of specialized wire cable were removed from the lot, with all stolen materials valued at more than $19,000, the release said.

Officers with WPD were assisted by the Wadena County Sheriff's Office and K-9 unit with the arrests, the release said, adding that Bradley Allen Thunstedt, 35, of Willmar, Brian Todd Thunstedt, 32, of Barnesville, and Candelario Perez Chavarria, 60, of Fargo were taken into custody at the Wadena County Detention Center.

A criminal complaint was filed in Wadena District Court on Friday, charging the men with felony theft and trespassing.
