Arrest made in death of former Thief River Falls woman

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - An arrest has been made in the April 27 murder of a 32-year-old former Thief River Falls, Minn., woman who was found dead in Riverside.

The body of Jamie Lea Harmer was discovered along railroad tracks. The body had been dismembered and scattered in plastic trash bags along the tracks, according to a report from Riverside Police Department.

Christopher Marcus Brown, 28, Riverside, who lives near the scene, has been taken into custody on a unrelated felony arrest warrant. He will be charged with murder Thursday afternoon, according to Sgt. David Amador.

Harmer, whose last permanent address was Thief River Falls, is believed to have moved to California in November. She had been in the Riverside area since early March, according to police.

No other information was immediately available.
