Waubun man gets jail for domestic assualt

A Waubun man was sentenced in Becker County Court for assaulting his ex-girlfriend at her house.

Nakoa Neeland, 35, was sentenced to 36 months in prison for an attack that happened August 6, 2013.

According to the report, White Earth Police were called to a residence on County Road 34 for a domestic dispute.

When police arrived, the woman told them Neeland broke into her residence and began to kick and punch her about the head. When she reportedly told him she had called the cops, he then swore at her and threw a chair through the dining room window and fled.

Neeland was convicted on three felonies, including two for domestic assault and one for violating a no-contact order.
