DL man charged with fleeing peace officer in Jeep
Sean Patrick Menard, 31, of 115 E. North St., Detroit Lakes has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle.
According to court records, about 1:20 p.m. on March 22, a deputy, who knew Menard was wanted on multiple active felony warrants, saw him driving around in a Jeep in Detroit Lakes.
Menard allegedly wouldn't pull over when the deputy activated the emergency lights on his squad car, and instead drove down Highway 34 and pulled into a residential driveway.
He allegedly drove into a garage and tried to shut the garage door, but the Jeep tripped the safety feature and the door wouldn't close. The deputy entered the garage as the door closed again. He allegedly had to pull Menard out of the Jeep and handcuff him to complete the arrest.
Menard appeared March 24 before District Judge Michelle Lawson, who set cash bail at $2,000 or bond at $10,000, with standard conditions of release, or $20,000 without conditions.
