DL man charged with marijuana-growing operation
Cody Joe Johnson, 32, of rural Detroit Lakes has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony second-degree controlled substance crime.
According to court records, on May 15, a Becker County deputy learned of a large marijuana-growing operation in Becker County, allegedly in the basement of Johnson's residence.
Deputies executed a search warrant and seized 156 marijuana plants. Johnson, who was home at the time, allegedly admitted setting up the marijuana-growing operation in his home.
He appeared in court May 17 before District Judge Gretchen Thilmony, who set cash bail at $500 and bond at $6,000, with standard conditions of release, or $20,000 without conditions.
