Arrest made in Moorhead hit-and-run
MOORHEAD - A 21-year-old Moorhead man has been arrested on suspicion of being involved in a hit-and-run crash Friday night that sent a 15-year-old pedestrian to the hospital, Moorhead police said.
Police were called to the 900 block of 30th Avenue South about 11:24 p.m. on a report of a van striking a pedestrian.
Police found a 15-year-old male from Moorhead with non-life threatening injuries, and the youth was taken to Innovis Hospital, police said.
Officers collected evidence at the scene of the hit and run and police were later called to the intersection of Third Avenue and Eighth Street South for a vehicle stuck in a snowbank.
Officers noticed the snowbound vehicle had damage matching that of the hit-and-run suspect vehicle and were able to confirm a match based on pieces found at the scene of the earlier incident.
Colin Balko of Moorhead was arrested and was being held Saturday pending possible charges, Moorhead police said.
