Detroit Lakes woman gets stay of adjudication on drug charge

A Detroit Lakes woman was sentenced Tuesday in Becker County District Court on a felony charge of fifth degree possession of a controlled substance.

Emily Andrea Greene, 22, of 415 Willow St. E, Detroit Lakes, was given a statutory stay of adjudication on the drug possession charge, on conditions including completion of a 30-day jail sentence, up to five years of supervised probation and sentence-to-service work in lieu of $1,085 in court fines and fees.

According to the criminal complaint, a search warrant was executed at a residence on Haldorson Drive in Detroit Lakes on May 25, 2011; Greene was one of four adults who were in the home at the time.

During the search, a black camera bag was found, which Greene indicated was hers. A search of the bag showed a zip-top plastic bag inside containing a white crystal residue, as well as one glass pipe and one plastic pen barrel that also contained a crystal residue.

A subsequent lab analysis by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension showed that the white crystal substance was methamphetamine.
