Bagley man in court for violating order for protection
A Bagley man made his first appearance recently in Becker County District Court on a felony charge of violating an order for protection.
Scott Robert Beckett, 38, of 21 South Bagley Ave., Bagley, was charged in connection with a domestic disturbance that was reported on June 29 in Lake Park.
According to the criminal complaint, a woman reported to local law enforcement that she and Beckett had gotten into an argument at her home; Beckett had been prohibited from having contact with her due to an order for protection that had been filed against him.
Beckett was found hiding in the bedroom closet of the residence, and reportedly told officers, "I know I'm not supposed to be here."
He has been previously convicted of protection order violations in 2006 and 2007, and also has two felony assault convictions on his record from 2007, as well as two misdemeanor domestic assault convictions from 2005. Beckett has been released on a $30,000 bond pending his next court appearance, at a July 23 omnibus hearing.
