Photo show submissions are due this Friday
The Lakes Area Photography Group is hosting its second photography show Feb. 22-March 9 in the Washington Square Mall. Submissions are needed by Feb. 7 to be entered in the show.
There is an adult category for ages 18 and up and a youth category for ages 17 and under.
Along with having photos on display in the Washington Square Mall, there will also be seminars for those wanting to learn a little bit more about photography.
On Feb. 22, there will be a meet and greet from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for all photographers who have submitted photos for the contest and the general public.
Photographers are asked to come to the mall that day to answer questions about their photos and share their interest with others.
On March 1, there will be mini seminars, and on March 8, photographers Ken Hupila and Adam Grim will be making presentations at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
Some members of the club will also be sharing some information through a round table discussion and beginner’s class.
The mini seminars on March 1 include How to Select a Mat & Frame for your Photo at 10 a.m., Photography 101 – All the Basics at 10:30, DSLR Photography Techniques at 11, and Panel Discussion – Ask the Experts at 12:30 p.m.
Adults and youth may enter up to five 8-by-10 prints for the Lakes Area Photography Show. Photos can be black and white or color. Inappropriate photos will not be accepted.
Besides the five prints, create a CD or flash drive with your photos as well. ProSystems is loaning the group two televisions to have the digital photos scroll through for people to view in the mall.
Label the back of each photo with the photographer’s name and a photo title.
The public will vote for People’s Choice Award, granting first, second and third place in both adult and youth categories.
After the show, photos may be picked up from the mall office on March 18 from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. CDs and flash drives will not be returned.
Registration forms can be found at Washington Square Mall office and on Facebook on the club’s page or from club members.
