Crews back on Highway 10 project
Construction crews began finishing work on the Highway 10/Connect Detroit Lakes project on Thursday. Project work is scheduled to be wrapped up by early June.
Motorists should be aware that crews will be working in many areas beside the roadway. Some work may include moving equipment and short-term lane closures.
Project areas that may impact traffic this spring include the overlook/boat landing, Roosevelt Avenue underpass, Highway 10 bridge over Roosevelt Avenue, Highway 10/Highway 59 intersection, Highway 59 bridge north of Highway 10, and miscellaneous finishing work and landscaping.
The boat landing will be open before the May 9 fishing opener. City of Detroit Lakes crews will reset the boat ramp over the next few days after ice caused the ramp to shift this winter. Boat landing visitors should use caution in and around the overlook area, and avoid areas in which construction work is in progress and equipment is located.
