Still no deal in sight between KXJB and DirecTV
Negotiations over the fee that satellite cable provider DirecTV pays to broadcast local CBS affiliate KXJB are still stalled, both station management and a DirecTV spokesman said.
Lacking a deal on the per-subscriber fee, KXJB was removed from DirecTV lineups in the Red River Valley on Jan. 8 after the previous retransmission agreement expired Dec. 31.
Robert Mercer, spokesman for DirecTV, and Charley Johnson, general manager of KXJB, said no progress has been made in settling the impasse.
Johnson said he is still hearing from miffed viewers, including a flurry of calls after the NFL playoff game on CBS on Sunday.
