St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Hawley, hosts a turkey dinner from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Adults are $10, ages 6-12 are $4 and preschool are free.
The Knights of Columbus sponsors an all you can eat spaghetti dinner from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Holy Rosary Parish Center. Cost is $7 for adults, $3 for 5-12 and under 5 are free.
The Lake Eunice Evangelical Free Church hosts a Harvest Festival at 4 p.m. There will be music, singing, fellowship, pie and coffee and horse-drawn wagon rides after the program.
Photo contest results
The Tamarac photo contest award presentation is at 2 p.m. in the Washington Square Mall. Help celebrate National Wildlife Refuge Week. Join us for a final look at this year's entries and find out who placed in five categories including Plant Life, Scenic, Wildlife, Nature's Abstracts, and Recreation. Grand Prize, People's Choice, Refuge Manager's Choice and Youth category winners will also be announced.

Brad is co-chair of the AIS committee. The program is free and the public is urged to attend.

Elementary-age kids and teens are invited to Detroit Lakes Library to carve pumpkins between 2 and 4:30 p.m. Pick out a pumpkin, decorate it and then take the decorated pumpkin home. The public is invited to the Terrapin Station in Nevis for the End of Season Celebration of the local chapters of the North Country Trail Assoc. The event begins at 5 p.m., with social time, followed by a picnic supper with meat and beverage furnished by the chapters. The program includes the executive director of the NCTA and Anne Dunn, local Anishinabe storyteller.

Vocalists Kathryn Larson and Ashley Morben will also perform. A free-will offering will be taken to benefit piano and voice scholarships. Receptions will follow each performance.
Family photo fundraiser
The Detroit Lakes School Readiness Preschool program will hold a Family Photo Fundraiser on Oct. 15 from 8:15 a.m.-7 p.m. and Oct. 16 from 8:15 a.m.-7 p.m. in the Lincoln Education Center. Photos will be taken by Schurman Photography. There is no sitting fee and parents can choose individual or family photos. 10 percent of all sales will be returned to the preschool program to purchase classroom supplies.
