Bus to Moorhead set up for sandbagging volunteers in Detroit Lakes and Frazee

The city of Detroit Lakes is organizing a volunteer sandbagging effort to help Moorhead as the Red River is due to flood to a record level later this week.

Anderson Bus Company of Frazee is donating a bus and driver each evening until further notice to transport volunteers.

The bus will leave the Frazee Event Center parking lot at 5 p.m. and the Detroit Lakes Police Department parking lot at 5:30 p.m.

Volunteers will head to Minnesota State University-Moorhead and sandbag until 9:30 p.m.

Volunteers should eat before leaving, and bring water and a spade. They are also asked to dress for outdoor work conditions.

Call the Detroit Lakes Police Department at 847-4222 with any questions.
