Brandon Ami of Pinon, Arizona uses an ax to de-limb a red pine in the woods around Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College in Cloquet Tuesday morning. He made the trip north to give support to the ongoing protest at the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation in North Dakota. The Lakes Area Parrot Heads recently made a $6,070 donation to the Marshmallow Foundation, a local shelter for abandoned animals. The donation represented the proceeds from the Parrot Heads’ Aug. 26 Macaws for Paws fundraiser at Zorbaz, which included a raffle silent auction and live music by Jambo Joe Bones.
