Montana man charged for meth
Winston Bearing, 24, of Butte, Mont., has been charged in Becker County District Court with felony fifth-degree controlled substance crime and misdemeanor DWI.
According to court records, at 6:40 p.m. on June 8 he was stopped for speeding by a state trooper on Highway 59 in Ogema. There was no alcohol in his system but he allegedly showed signs of impairment. A microbaggie of meth that weighed .9 grams with packaging was allegedly found in the vehicle. A search warrant was obtained and a blood sample was taken at Essentia St. Mary's Hospital.
Bearing appeared June 11 before before District Judge Peter Irving, who set cash bail at $300 or bond at $3,000, with standard conditions of release, or bond at $10,000 with no conditions of release. A request for a public defender was denied.
