Weekend college sports wrap up
Sophomore wide receiver Jake Richter of Detroit Lakes caught four passes for 77 yards, including the Dragons only touchdown from 30 yards out, for Minnesota State University Moorhead (1-1) in a 60-7 loss to No. 24-ranked Minnesota Duluth in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action Saturday night in Duluth, Minn.
Fellow former Laker and Dragon linebacker Casey Paskey, a senior, recorded six tackles in the game.
Richter leads MSUM through two games with nine catches for 200 yards and three touchdowns. His 200 yards leads the Dragons in all-purpose yardage and he’s atop the scoring chart with 18 points.
Paskey is second on the team defensively with eight solo tackles and 10 assists.
Cihak scores in loss at Whitewater
Concordia College quarterback Blake Kragnes tossed a 10-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Cihak with 1 minute, 35 seconds to play in the third quarter for Concordia's only points in a 24-6 at No.12-ranked Wis.-Whitewater.
Cihak made a team-high five catches for 27 yards. The Cobber junior and former Laker is second on the team in receptions with eight for 42 yards and two touchdowns in two games.
Concordia gave up the first 24 points of the game – all in the first half to fall to 1-1.
Jordan tallies in Cobber win at Morris
DL’s Halle Jordan, a junior at Concordia, scored her first goal of the season in a Cobber 9-0 non-conference women’s soccer victory at Minnesota-Morris Sunday, Sept. 9.
Jordan has recorded a goal and one assist for three points in four games for the 3-1 Cobbers.
