Leonard (Curly) Fagerlie, age 88, was born in Audubon, Mn and peacefully passed on November 28, 2016, at his home in Lake Stevens, WA. He leaves his wife of 65 years, Helen, his sons, Jim, Dan (& Ann), Rick, 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was a member of the South Lake Stevens Grange; NRA; NAHC. NAFC and Eagles. Curly was born March 7, 1928 to Alfred & Mamie Fagerlie, of Audubon, MN. He grew up on the family farm with 7 brothers & 2 sisters north of town. At 16 he worked on ranches in MT till the Army called in 1950. He married Helen Kiehl,of Audubon,on September 20, 1951, before shipping out to Germany for a year. In 1953 they moved to WA, where Curly worked for Boeing. After 3 years he went to work as a carpenter, building homes and eventually commercial construction. In 1983 he, Jim, Rick and a friend started a commercial construction co, where he worked till he retired in 1990. In retirement, he & his wife Helen took many enjoyable road trips across the USA.
Curly enjoyed helping people, whether building on family homes or constructing foot stools or walking sticks for others. He loved to fish, hunt, camp, and sing his favorite songs. He enjoyed going to the casino, playing cards and games and visits with family and friends. He lived life to the fullest.
