Letter: Here's how governor's bonding bill is good for Minnesota
Gov. Mark Dayton has proposed a $1.5 billion bonding bill. The state Legislature was supposed to pass a similar bonding bill last year. They failed. This bonding bill represents a win-win-win for the state of Minnesota.
1. Creation of an estimated 23,000 good paying jobs. Jobs one can make a living wage on.
2. Minnesota's private construction companies will be hired to do the work.
3. Improved infrastructure that will make the state of Minnesota more competitive.
Why couldn't we get this through the Legislature last year? Why did the Legislature wait until the last moment? Why will many legislators favor tax cuts for the large multinational corporations and tax cuts for the rich over this bonding bill?—Robert Peterson, Henning
