DETROIT LAKES - Every run counted in Detroit Lakes’ last four games, as the biggest margin of victory was two runs — including three one-run games — as the Lakers went 2-2 through Monday and Tuesday’s Mid-State Conference tilts.

DETROIT LAKES - The ceiling of improvement is still high for the Detroit Lakes girls’ golf team with an abundance of lost meets due to weather, but as the Lakers improve, they keep racking up victories.

DETROIT LAKES - Sometimes you just have to accept your finish, even though if it’s second-best. The Detroit Lakes girls’ track and field team had its best meet of the season with a second-place finish in the Section True Team meet, while East Grand Forks took first with a score of 458.5.

Laker boys’ golf team puts depth on display

DETROIT LAKES - The Detroit Lakes boys’ golf team is the perfect definition of “depth”. As in very good depth. The Lakers’ second team blew their varsity competition away at Wildflower Golf Course Monday, stroking a meet-low 308 out of 15 squads — just 20 strokes over par counting the tops four scores.

FRAZEE - The rust was showing in Frazee’s doubleheader split with Pelican Rapids. The Frazee Lady Hornets split their games with Pelican Rapids, winning game one 15-13 and dropping the second 11-0.
