Laker teams picking up wins

The U-12 Red softball team of Detroit Lakes remained undefeated with a 2-1 win over Dent Thursday. 

Madi Kirchner picked up the win on the mound, while Lauryn Manning scored the winning run on a double steal of home and second.  

In game two, down by four, DL  rallied to tie the game 7-7. 

In the last inning, Manning started it off with a triple to the fence.

The next batter, Kirchner, laced a game winning walk-off base hit. 

Mattea Borah picked up the win in relief. 

Rachel Perkins, Manning and Kirchner picked up hits in the game.  

DL is now 6-0 on the season .

The DL White team lost two games versus Waubun Thursday night.  The scores were 8-2 and 7-1. Isabelle Grimm collected a double in the effort.

The Laker U-18 squad split with Dilworth, winning game one 3-0 and falling in the second 8-7.

Chaz Butz was the winning pitcher, while Kyra Vagle and Brooke Olson had two hits apiece

In game two, Dilworth rallied in bottom of seventh with three runs, winning 8-7. 

Emily Seebold and Vagle had two hits apiece.

The Lakers are now 3-1 on season.

The U-14 squad lost 1-0 and 3-2 in two tight games. 

Dani Unruh and Rachel Perkins collected two hits in the losses. Emma Maguire pitched well in both losses, striking out 12 batters.

The U-14 team then swept Fergus Falls on a pair of 15-0 wins.

Schiltz went 3-3 with a triple, a homer and five RBIs. Betty Schouviller was 3-3 with four RBIs, as well.

Emma Maguire was the winning pitcher.

In the second game, Schiltz was 2-2 with a triple and homer, while Maguire took the win on the mound and went for three hits.

DL is now 4-2 on the season.
