DL U-14 softball dominates

The Detroit Lakes U-14 softball team dominated Breckenridge Tuesday with a 16-1 victory.

Emma Maguire pitched for the win, while Betty Schouviller, Emily Schiltz and Dani Unruh collect two hits apiece.

In game two, DL won 24-6.

Macy Kirchner picked up the win and record a three-run double in the effort. 

Cheyenne Dallman, McKenna Krengel, Madi Ramsey and Schiltz each had two hits . 

DL is now 6-2 on the year.

The Laker U-18 squad also swept Waubun,  as Kyra Vagle picked both wins.

Vagle added three hits. Carolyn Kinney also recorded two hits.

The U-18 also played in Hutchinson this past weekend.

They won the first game 6-5 in extra innings, with Maguire pitching for the victory.

Kinney and Macy Kirchner each had two hits. Sadie Larson had a big three-run double.

Emily Seebold racked a double off the fence, while Kinney hit a go-ahead double in the eighth inning. 

In game two, Maguire pitched a gem, but DL’s bats went silent, losing 1-0.

The third game, DL lost 5-2 against Moorhead. Sunday’s games were canceled due to heavy rain, as the DL U-18 team is 6-5 on the season.
