Waubun has slow start against Win-E-Mac

Win-E-Mac’s size and strength on the offensive and defensive fronts were too much to handle for the Waubun Bombers Friday, as the Patriots notched a 34-7 victory.

All of Win-E-Mac’s points came in the first half, as Waubun’s lone score came in the third quarter on a 72-yard pass by Jordan Spaeth to Dayton Makey.

“Win-E-Mac got things rolling early and kind of steam rolled us in the first half,” said Waubun head coach Paul Clark.

“They have one of the best lines offensively and defensively, that I have seen in nine-man football.”

Back-to-back fumbles also hindered the Bombers’ chances in the first half, as Win-E-Mac turned that in 14 points.

Ryan Weber led Waubun in rushing with 43 yards on 10 carries, while Spaeth threw for 87 yards on four completions.

Waubun will host Norman County West (0-3) Friday for a 7 p.m. start.
