In last Sunday's "Last Hurrah" article, it was incorrectly stated that Rory Manke was the 2004 MVP of the All-Star Football game.

It was Reed Manke who was the 2002 Offensive MVP, not Rory in 2004.

Seven DL players on Advanced squads

Seven hockey players from Detroit Lakes were named to the Minnesota Hockey Advanced Team programs (formerly known as Select Teams).

Those DL girls making the advanced teams include sophomore Mari Navarro (Advanced 92s) and eighth grader Brianna Seebold (Advanced 93s).

DL boys making advanced teams include eighth graders Ethan Brekke and Alex Mason, and freshmen Andy Schupp and Kirby Inderrieden (Advanced 15s); freshman Tanner Lane and sophomore Alex Phelps (of Perham) made the Advanced 16s.

Players are selected through a tryout evaluation and will practice and compete on teams representing Minnesota District 15 or Minnesota State High School League Section 6-1A/2A at the Hockey Advanced Festival in April.

NYM?to host golf scramble

The New York Mills eighth annual four-person golf scramble is scheduled for Saturday, May 3, at the Thumper Pond Golf Course in Ottertail.

Play starts at 9:30 a.m., with contests including longest putt, skins game, longest/shortest drive and closest to pin. Prize drawings will be held after the tournament.

Entry fee is $60 per person or $240 per group, which includes a lunch and golf.

Space is limited to the first 36 paid teams.
