The Detroit Lakes softball team split its home doubleheader against visiting Norman County East Tuesday at Snappy Park.

The Lakers took game one 7-4, behind pitcher Callea Butz' 11 strikeouts and Amalea Branden's 3-3 day at the plate, with three RBIs.

Shayna Dugger's two-run single in the sixth inning broke the game open for DL.

In a rain-shortened second game, NCE stalled the Laker offense in an 8-2 victory, with the game ending in the sixth inning due to rain.

Butz also earned 8-2AA All-Section honors after posting a 1-2 playoff record, with a 1.23 ERA and 19 strikeouts.

The Lakers will play at Dilworth Tuesday in a doubleheader, with the first game starting at 4:30 p.m. and the second at 7:30 p.m.
