Raiders clip B/GB-MR Gators 48-8 in football home opener

The Lake Park-Audubon football team picked up a nice rebound game Friday, downing Badger/Greenbush-Middle River 48-8 in the Raiders' home opener.

After a defeat to Barnesville in the season opener, the Raiders shook off the dust and pounded the Gator defense for 245 yards on the ground and a stellar 7.9 yards per carry average.

The Raiders wasted little time setting the tone with 14 points in the first quarter, then added 21 more in the second for a commanding 35-0 halftime advantage.

Running back Bobby Lalonde scored two rushing touchdowns, along with gaining 81 yards, while Bryan Ware added 89 yards on the ground and a TD.

Jon Nelson added a rushing touchdown.

LP-A quarterback Brian Gordon passed for 109 yards and a long touchdown to Jake Lunde.

Bryan Ware was named the LP-A Defensive Player of the Game, as the Raider defense held the Gators to minimal yards.

The Raiders (1-1) will travel to Cass Lake-Bena Friday for a 7 p.m. start.
