Flyers compete in State Qualifier

The Minnesota Flyers Gymnastics Compulsory Level 5 and Level 6 teams competed in the Second State Qualifier at North Shore Gymnastics in Maple Plain, Saturday, Nov. 7.

This year, MFG has six Level 5's, and eight Level 6's.

They are much improved from last year, as the first qualifier was held on Oct. 3, at Spirit Gymnastics on the campus of Hamline University in St. Paul.

There were several girls that were close to the Minnesota state qualifying score of 32.00.

Morgan Eiter was the only gymnast from MFG that qualified for the Minnesota State Level 6 Championships, which will be held at Hamline University Dec. 12-13.

Her all-around score was 33.125.

At the second qualifier, two Level 5 and two more Level 6 gymnasts qualified for the state championships.

The Level 5 gymnasts who qualified are Cora Okeson, with an all around score of 32.25, and Leah Chavez with a score of 32.175.

The Level 6 qualifiers are Natalie Nelmark with an all-around score of 32.8, and Johanna Jernberg with an all-around score of 33.40.

Eiter continued to improve on her all-around score from the first qualifier with a 33.525.

The MFG Level 5 and Level 6 gymnasts will have their last qualifier meet in Forest Lake this Saturday, Nov. 21.

There are a couple more gymnast from each level that have the potential to qualify at this meet.
