Rangers make title game

WADENA, Minn. - A second-half lull proved costly for Hawley's boys basketball team, as the Nuggets lost 53-46 to Crosby-Ironton in the Section 8-2A tournament Tuesday.

Mark Hoge led Crosby-Ironton with 25 points. The Rangers (27-2) rallied from a two-point halftime deficit to advance to the section final.

"They're going to put pressure on," Hawley head coach Jon Hinrichs said. "In the first half, we had 10 turnovers and played pretty good defense. In the second half, we had a spurt where we had too many turnovers and weren't scoring."

Taylor Harms led the Nuggets (21-6) with 15 points.

The Rangers will face Thief River Falls - which defeated East Grand Forks 60-55 on Tuesday - in the section title game Friday in Bemidji.

"They're an exceptionally quick team," Hinrichs said of Crosby-Ironton. "They're a quality team."
