Tappe earns team MVP honors

Freshman Alexis Tappe led the Frazee girls basketball team with 331 points this season, including 85 field goals and an 11.8 points per game average.

Guard Ashley Bachmann hit for 51 three pointers during the 2009-10 season to key her second-team high 275 points, as the Lady Hornets finished the season with an 8-20 record.

Tappe earned the team's Most Valuable Player honor -- while being Frazee's lone All HOL Conference player -- and senior Jaclyn Mickelson won Defensive Player of the Year accolades.

The senior Lady Hornet also was named to the Academic All-State team, while the team earned the Silver Award for having a squad grade point average of 3.629.

Bachmann was also named All-HOL Honorable Mentioned.

Captains for the 2010-11 season include juniors Kristi Smith, Sadie Stender, Chloe Streeper and Suzanne Vetter.

They will lead a team with its top seven of eight players returning.
