The Lake Park-Audubon football team did something only one other offense has done this season against the No. 2 Class 1A ranked Mahnomen Indians -- score a touchdown.

But that was about all the Raiders could manage, as the Indians posted another pounding to stay undefeated at 6-0 with a 52-7 win at home Friday.

Although the defense has been purely dominant this season for the Indians, the offense has been no slouch either, as they have produced an amazing scoring margin of 265-23 against their opponents.

It's been a match made in heaven for the Indians.

"Our offense is really starting to hit its stride right now and we've been outstanding on defense all year," said Mahnomen head coach John Clark Jr. "And our special teams played well this week."

Mahnomen quarterback Jacob Pavek had his best game of the season after he rushed for 172 yards on 12 carries and four touchdowns for a rushing average of 14.3 per yards a carry.

Pavek ignited the Indian attack with a 75-yard touchdown run around right end. From there, it was all Mahnomen.

"Jake had a monster game," Clark said. "He completed a couple of key passes that led to scores and made great decisions running the offense all night."

Clark praised the Indian offensive line for controlling the line of scrimmage, as the defense stifled the Raider offense for good field position.

LP-A leading rusher Chase Zeller was corralled to 76 yards on 13 carries, as a 36-0 halftime lead ended the Raider rushing attack threat.

"We eliminated the big play and had good open-field tackles to prevent the long gains," Clark said.

The Raiders also had three lost fumbles to hinder their chances of sustaining drives.

Mahnomen outrushed LP-A 385-194 and had 23 first downs to LP-A's 15.

It will be a showdown of the unbeaten teams Friday in Mahnomen, as the Indians will host No. 8 Class 1A ranked Fertile-Beltrami (6-0) Friday, for a 7 p.m. start.
