Frazee and LP-A players to play in all-star volleyball game in Bagley

There will be a heavy contingent of Lake Park-Audubon players in the Seventh Annual Central All-Star games Saturday, Nov. 19, in Bagley.

Three Raiders were selected to play in the all-star game, while LP-A head coach Mike Summers will be coaching the Maroon team as well.

Those selected to play include outside hitter Andrea Knudsvig, setter Tatum Hall and libero Angie Carlson.

"It will be nice to be able to coach these three one final time," Summers said. "It's also an honor to be chosen to coach an all-star team in my first year of coaching."

Knudsvig finished her volleyball career as a four-year letter winner and had 201 kills in 2011. She averaged 8.7 kills per game, while adding 242 digs for a solid 10.5 average per game.

She was named to the Pine to Prairie All-Conference team this past season and was the team leader in kills.

Carlson was a four-time letterwinner and collected 295 regular season digs from her libero position.

Frazee's Krissy Marlen was also selected to the all-star game. The senior Hornet middle hitter was a three-year letter winner for Frazee and was fifth in the Heart O'Lakes Conference in kills this past season.

She totaled 240 kills in 2011 and had 55 blocks. Marlen was also the conference's Ace winner with 68.

Other area volleyball players chosen for the all-star classic include Olivia Vaadeland of Park Rapids, Morgan Hensch of Fergus Falls and Miranda Lockhart of Perham.
