Frazee boy cagers win finale

The Frazee boys' basketball team ended the regular season with a 9-17 record, winning three of the last four.

Hornet senior post Daniel Janu led the way with 24 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists in a 60-52 Heart O'Lakes Conference win over Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Monday.

Janu, who is now second on the FHS all-time scoring list, started hot early, but also found others some easy looks at the basket.

All the seniors scored in their last game on their home court, as Beau Hanson had two points, Logan Dahlgren had two and Zack Ziegler had three points.

"It was nice to see them all get in the scoring column in a win," said Frazee head coach Jason Reierson.

"Matt Tangen did a great job at the point, breaking down the defense and getting to the free throw line."

Tangen ended up with 13 points and was 5-5 from the free throw line.

His regular season free throw percentage was 76.5 percent, which maybe a Hornet record, Reierson added.

Tangen also had six crucial rebounds at the end of the game and five assists.

Another freshman, Austin Torma, came in and played solid minutes and gave the Hornets a scoring punch, going 6-8 from the line.

The Hornets gained the No. 7 seed in the upcoming Section 8-2A playoffs and will have to face No. 2 Perham on their home court Thursday, starting at 7 p.m.
