Frazee's Hanson shoots 4-under

Frazee senior Beau Hanson hooked up an anchor onto his score, shooting a four-under par 68 to easily win a Heart O'Lakes Conference meet, as the Frazee Hornets finished second overall with a 330 Monday at The Meadows in Moorhead.

Hanson's season-low 68 score was seven strokes better than the second place finisher, Hawley's Cody Cook, who had a 75.

"Beau is starting to turn it on," said Frazee head coach John Olson.

Frazee's Zack Ziegler backed up Hanson's 68 by shooting a 78, which was good for fifth overall. Calvin Streeper also had a breakout meet to help solidify the team's second-place finish by shooting a career-best 87.

Frazee also topped Hawley by three strokes, as the HOL standings have Perham on top, the Nuggets second and the Hornets third.

"Calvin has slowly been getting his scores down and we really needed his score (in the HOL meet)," Olson said. "Zack has been very consistent and hitting the ball further off the tee.

"Beating Hawley was big for us and it does give us great momentum heading towards sections."

Other Hornet scores included Isaac Schermerhorn's 97, Matt Tangen's 97 and Austin Torma's 122.

Perham took the tournament title with a 317, as Toby Curtis was lowman for the Yellowjackets with a 77, good for third overall.
