Spencer Clark blasts out of a bunker along the 7th green during his seniors match against Rob Harris. Clark beat the defending senior champion to advance to Sunday's final match.2 / 2

The veteran golfer from Bozeman, Mont., beat his co-medalist Rubis in the semifinals to earn his spot in the title match.

Linnerooth had to play catch up to Rubis, though, after falling down three holes after the eighth hole.

But he kept chipping away at the deficit and by the turn, was one down after making birdie on 18 (the duo started on tee 10).

Rubis found the bunker on the sixth hole to even up the match, while Linnerooth made par on the second to last hole to take his first and final lead of the match.

"I was more aggressive after falling down, but the main thing was I hung around and didn't get too far down," Linnerooth said. "It's nice to make the championship after playing for 31 years here and being a caddy before that."

Spencer Clark ended Rob Harris' bid to repeat as Seniors champion with an impressive victory in the other semifinal match.

The Clark and Linnerooth match for the Pine to Palm Seniors championship will start at 12:30 p.m.
