With the wind blowing and snow flying, the Frazee football team set the tone early on both sides of the ball en route to a convincing 36-8 victory in Warren-Alvarado-Oslo Friday.

A three-and-out against the Ponies' offense, was followed by a 54-yard touchdown pass by Frazee senior quarterback Baxter Bachmann to Cody Nordquist, to open the scoring and eventually the game.

"At that point, the tone had been set and the Hornets never looked back," said Frazee head coach Jim Rader. "This is one of the games that really makes you proud of your team."

The Hornets (5-1) maintained pressure on both sides of the ball, as senior running back Bruce Lemmon surged for two more touchdowns in the first half from two yards out each for a 21-0 halftime lead.

Lemon spearheaded the Hornet rushing attack with 165 yards on 29 carries (5.7 ypc), while Frazee racked up an impressive 314 yards on the ground.

Bachmann added a 22-yard end zone run to start the third quarter, while Lemon answered WAO's only TD -- a nine-yard rush by Jayvon O'Quinn -- with his third score from four yards out.

Austin Torma was named the Defensive Player of the Game, while Garrett Malstrom led Frazee with seven tackles. Nordquist and Bachmann each collected interceptions.

The Hornets will host Fosston (0-6) Friday, before their Fargodome showdown against No. 5 ranked Fertile-Beltrami (5-1) Wednesday, starting at 1:15 p.m.
