Frazee gymnasts pick up win over PR

The Frazee Gymnastics hosted Park Rapids Panthers Thursday, as the more improvement was shown by the Lady Hornets, as well as a team victory.

Courtney Osterman and Morgan Laine showed tremendous improvement on beam, as Osterman added a superior jump mount to her routine and improved her execution on her jumps, said Frazee head coach Aimee Erickson.

"Morgan's form throughout her routine increased both girls' scores setting new personal bests for each as well as placing second and first, respectively," Erickson said.

Cassidy Ziegler placed fourth and junior varsity gymnast Tiana Reetz also added a superior jump mount to her routine, earning second.

"The Hornets have been emphasizing form and execution on floor and the efforts were rewarded with great performances," Erickson said. "All four varsity gymnasts, Courtney, Jerica Totland, Morgan, and Cassidy set personal bests."

Placing second was Laine who polished her dance and tumbled with ease.

Ziegler's front tucks were performed effortlessly and her leaps and jumps reached new heights earning her third.

Vault remains strong with Ziegler's handspring half off earning her first place with an 8.05. Totland took second with an 8.0 handspring half off and Laine placed fourth with a 7.8 handspring half.

Capturing first in all-around was Laine, third was Ziegler and fourth to Totland.
