Mavericks power past Dragons in NSIC softball

ST. PETER, Minn. – Minnesota State-Mankato flexed its muscle and powered past MSU Moorhead in both games of a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference softball doubleheader Sunday.

Abby Sonner and Anna Cole each hit home runs for the Mavericks (25-7) en route to an 8-0 victory in Game 1.

Samantha Holien hit a homer in the second game to lead the Mavericks to an 8-1 win.

After only getting one hit in the first game, six different MSU Moorhead batters had a hit in Game 2.
