Conditions were definitely not golf-like for the Detroit Lakes Invite, which was played on the par 64 Lakeview Golf Course Tuesday, due to the Detroit Country Club not being ready for play.

But even though the windy conditions ended up being extreme, the Lakers still came out on top with a score of 305.

Freshman Kate Smith was DL’s low player with an eight-over par 72, while Pequot Lakes’ Savannah Stone shot a 70 for medalist honors.

Natalie Roth followed for the Lakers with a 78, while Trisa Hutchinson fired a 77, Matty Tschider a 79, Emma Thompson a 78 and Sydney Busker an 81.

Conditions were much different for the Lakers Saturday in the Wildflower triangular, as DL broke the 300 barrier for the first time in its history with a 299.

Four Laker golfers busted 80, led by Smith’s even-par 72, with Hutchinson close in tow with a 73.

Roth and Tschider each scored a 77, while Thompson shot an 82 and Busker an 84.

The Lakers are more than ready for the Sub-Section play with their new 299 DLHS record, with the meet to be held at Wildflower Wednesday, starting at 10 a.m.
