Blues sweep Post 15 in Moorhead

The Detroit Lakes Post 15 American Legion baseball team dropped a pair of games to the Moorhead Blues at Matson Field in Moorhead by scores of 17-2 and 7-4 Monday, July 9.

Dylan Maneval had the lone hit for DL in the opener. Jordan Tucker and Jayden Heisler scored a run each.

The Blues outhit DL 12-1 and DL committed six errors to just one for Moorhead.

Caden Triggs went 3-for-3 with two doubles and four RBI to lead the Blues. Carter Howell added a home run and three RBI.

Detroit Lakes tallied seven hits in game two but trailed 5-2 after three innings. Hits were relatively even with the Blues holding a 9-7 advantage, but Moorhead had six gaffes in the field to only one by DL.

Martin Mai and Trevor Schnathorst had multiple hits for Detroit Lakes. Mai was 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs knocked in to lead Post 15.

Evan Gray paced Moorhead at the plate going 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Isaac Howe added a two-run home run.

The Blues improved to 9-1 overall. DL dropped to 0-8.

Post 15 hosts the Water Carnival Classic round robin tournament beginning Friday, July 13.
