Katlyn Brenna scored 16 points to help lead the Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Rebels to a 66-62 girls basketball victory against the Moorhead Spuds on Friday night to win the Moorhead Holiday Tournament.

Ranked No. 2 in Minnesota Class 2A, D-G-F (7-0) remained unbeaten. Ranked No. 8 in Class 4A, the Spuds (8-3) have lost two of their past three games.

The Rebels defeated St. Francis, another Class 4A opponent, on Thursday to advance to the tournament championship game.

"I'm just really proud of the girls. They battled every possession," D-G-F head coach Tom Critchley said. "And It wasn't just one girl. ... I liked our focus and our poise playing two teams that were bigger than us. Despite being undersized, our girls battled every possession."

The Rebels had five players score in double digits against Moorhead. Natalie Steichen had 14 points, Rae Critchley had 12, Grace Steichen had 11 and Allie Critchley finished with 10 to go along with Brenna's team-high total.

"This is why we are in education," Tom Critchley said. "I just like watching a team grow. ... Our goal is to not make this the peak of the season."

Sam Haiby paced the Spuds with 16 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists. Jalen Ennen added 10 points and 10 rebounds for her second consecutive double-double. Samantha Hulst chipped in 12 points for the Spuds.

The Rebels will be in Detroit Lakes to face the Lakers (1-8) Thursday, Jan. 4 at 7:30 p.m.
